Conditional Scholarship Retention Data

ABA Standard 509(e) requires law schools to post the following conditional scholarship retention data chart.

The ABA defines a conditional scholarship as follows: "A conditional scholarship is any financial aid award, the retention of which is dependent upon the student maintaining a minimum grade point average or class standing, other than that ordinarily required to remain in good academic standing."

Scholarships are not conditional at Villanova University School of Law. The only requirement for retaining a scholarship at the Law School is for students to remain in good academic standing as outlined in the Academic Rules and Policies section found in the Student Handbook.

Prior to 2011, some of the Law School's scholarships established a minimum GPA requirement of 3.25 - this requirement has been removed. Therefore, the entering class of fall 2010 has not seen scholarships reduced or eliminated.

In the entering class of fall 2009, 41 received a (at the time) conditional scholarship. Of those, 11 saw their awards eliminated.
