Nominate a Villanovan

All members of the Law School community (alumni, faculty, students and friends) are welcome to submit nominations to be considered each year for the following awards:



The Villanova Law Alumni Association Gerald Abraham Award for Service to Villanova University School of Law

This award recognizes outstanding service by alumni to their alma mater. It is presented to alumni who have exhibited outstanding leadership qualities and made significant contributions in time or otherwise to assist the Law School in fulfilling its mission and goals.

Nominees must be alumni of Villanova University School of Law. Alumni currently serving as officers or appointed members (excluding ex-officio) of the Alumni Association Board of Advisors are not eligible to receive this award.

All nominations must be submitted to the Office of the Alumni Relations by November 30. The more information you provide about your nominee, the more serious consideration the committee can give to him or her. All nominations are reviewed and recipients selected by the Alumni Association’s Awards Committee, subject to the final approval of the Dean. All nominations are confidential and will be acknowledged to the nominator.

The Villanova Law Alumni Association Award for Public Service

This award recognizes outstanding service by alumni to society, exemplifying the University's roots in the Catholic and Augustinian traditions. It is presented to alumni who have dedicated time and energy to the public welfare to ameliorate the lives of the less fortunate and society at large.

Nominees must be alumni of Villanova University School of Law. Alumni currently serving as officers or appointed members (excluding ex-officio) of the Alumni Association Board of Advisors are not eligible to receive this award.

All nominations must be submitted to the Office of Alumni Relations by November 30. The more information you provide about your nominee, the more serious consideration the committee can give him or her. All nominations are reviewed and recipients selected by the Alumni Association’s Awards Committee, subject to the final approval of the Dean. All nominations are confidential and will be acknowledged to the nominator.

St. Thomas of Villanova Award for Pro Bono Service

This award is presented to alumni of Villanova University School of Law who have performed exceptional pro bono work since graduation, exemplifying the ideals of the Law School.

Nominees must have graduated from Villanova University School of Law within the past five years and performed exceptional pro bono work since graduation.

All nominations must be submitted to the Office of Alumni Relations by November 30. The more information you provide about your nominee, the more serious consideration the committee can give to him or her. All nominations are reviewed and recipients selected by the Dean. All nominations are confidential and will be acknowledged to the nominator. Please note: this award is not an annual award.

Law Alumni Award for Pro Bono Service

Villanova faculty and staff are welcome to submit nominations each year for the Law Alumni Award for Pro Bono Service, to acknowledge and reward a Third Year Student who has rendered pro bono service or has contributed to make pro bono services available, perhaps through the public Interest Fellowship Program and Pro Bono Society.

Nominees must be Third Year Law Students of Villanova University School of Law.

All nominations must be submitted to the Office of Alumni Relations by March 1. The more information you provide about your nominee, the more serious consideration the committee can give to him or her. All nominations are confidential and will be acknowledged to the nominator.

  • Nomination statement, one page, summarizing why the nominee deserves the award. Optional: supporting documents such as press clippings.
