Mission

The mission of the Office of Career Strategy and Advancement is to provide core career planning education, recruitment programs, and individual counseling that serve as the foundation for our students' future professional development and satisfaction. The Career Strategy team, which includes 3 experienced attorney-advisors and a program assistant, works together to partner with students in identifying and achieving their career goals. In addition, the Office of Career Strategy and Advancement works with employers from diverse practice sectors and locations to recruit Villanova's talented students and alumni.

Jennifer A. Henfey (VLS '99) joined the Career Strategy Office after practicing law for twelve years at Blank Rome LLP, an international law firm in Philadelphia.  Jennifer has extensive experience in hiring and recruiting.  While in private practice, she chaired the firm's recruiting and retention committee and served as the firm's hiring partner.  Jennifer leads the Office of Career Strategy and Advancement in her role at Villanova.

Kristin L. Archibald, Esq. (VLS '01) joined the Career Strategy Office after practicing law for 5 years in the Philadelphia region.  As the Associate Director of Recruitment, Kristin has primary responsibility for the Law School's year round Recruitment Programs. Kristin works closely with our employer community to expand and maintain high quality student recruiting programs and job fairs, as well as markets Villanova Law to the legal community. Kristin counsels students in individual sessions and group education programs on the whole spectrum of career planning concerns. Elizabeth Dunn joined Villanova Law School after two years serving as Pennsylvania House Counsel for the Environmental Resources and Energy Committee.  During her time at the House, Elizabeth drafted legislation addressing property tax reform, clean air standards and low income energy assistance.  As Counsel, she worked closely with the Department of Environmental Protection, the Department of Education and the Pennsylvania Department of Health. Ms. Cranford comes to Villanova Law School from Pepper Hamilton, LLP, where she was Director of Professional Recruiting for 12 years.  Highlights of her tenure at the firm include being part of a team that both implemented a cutting-edge interview model and the managed the nation’s top Summer Associates Program as ranked by The American Lawyer.
 
Ms. Cranford oversees career strategy services for VLS alumni, including counseling in legal career planning, resume preparation, job search strategies, and practice specialties. She also assists in counseling students, especially 3Ls, and managing alumni participation and engagement in career development for recent graduates and current students.
 
A graduate of Villanova University (BA) and The Catholic University of America’s Columbus School of Law (JD), Ms. Cranford received a Human Resource Management Certificate from The University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton Executive Education Program in 2009.  She also worked in the attorney recruiting departments at two other Am Law 100 firms prior to joining Pepper, and has interviewed over 3,000 attorneys and mentored nearly 300 summer associates during her 15 year legal recruiting career.
