Trial Competition Team
Learn Through Experience
VLS Students who win a place on the Trial Competition Team combine sophisticated case analysis with highly polished performance. They learn to think on their feet and capitalize on opportunities that arise during trial. The Trial Competition Team represents the law school in national and invitational mock trial competitions across the country. Students compete against teams from other law schools in simulated jury trials. A panel of experienced trial lawyers and judges evaluate each student's performance and often provide critiques.
Villanova Law Trial Team members Jennifer D’Iorio, Mathew Helman, and William Weis, all members of the class of 2010, competed in the Texas Young Lawyers Association’s National Trial Competition. After winning the Regional Championship for the Philadelphia Region of the 2009 National Trial Competition, the team moved on to join 27 other teams nationwide to compete in the National Trial Competition Finals in San Antonio, Texas.
