VLS Network
Computer Facilities
The Law School provides wireless access throughout the entire building. In addition, the Law School offers a total of 25 PC workstations available for student use in the Law Library's training area (L30, the Computer Classroom). All PC's are networked to high speed printers for student use. Printers/photocopiers are located at the end of the corridors on all three floors, at the end of the cafeteria corridor, and throughout the library. The library also contains study carrels where students with laptop computers may access the network, printers, and the Internet.
Printers/copiers are Wildcard-operated. Each student will be allocated 1,000 free pages per semester. Additional pages will be available via charge to the student's Wildcard for 5 cents per copy. Along with these printers, there are Westlaw and Lexis printers in the print/copy room on the bottom floor of the Library. There is no cost to use these printers. Students must send print jobs to the Westlaw/Lexis printers using the print command from their Westlaw or Lexis account.
Use of the Law Library computer facilities is limited to Villanova Law students by password login to the network. The law library provides access to many databases including Lexis, Westlaw, and subscription databases, as well as Computer Assisted Legal Instruction (CALI) tutorials. Remote access to Library databases is also provided. Students with questions about wireless should contact the Computer Services Office in the Law Library.
