Federal Court Locator
The Federal Court Locator is a service provided by the Villanova University School of Law. It is intended to give net citizens a means to access information related to the federal judiciary, including slip opinions. This information can be viewed on-line or it can be downloaded.
If you learn of a federal court site on the Internet, please mail us so that we can add a link to it and continue to improve the access to federal judicial information.
Note: Free access to case law varies by court. Many use the PACER (Public Access to Court Electronic Records) system, which requires an account and which has been mandated to charge to recoup costs. Check each individual court website for availability. Below are links to official court websites. Where an alternative, free archive or information source is known to be available for the Supreme Court or the Courts of Appeals, it has been listed to the right. The official listing of federal courts can be found at the US Courts website.
