Associate Dean for Finance and Administration
Biography
Christopher Dwyer joined the Villanova University School of Law as Associate Dean for Finance and Administration in June 2012. Dwyer came to the Law School from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, where he served as Special Advisor to the Budget Secretary and most recently as the Department of Community and Economic Development’s Director of Financial Management, a position he held under Governors Rendell and Corbett.
As a member of the Law School leadership team, Dwyer serves as the chief operations officer for the Law School. His responsibilities include oversight of the Law School’s financial resources, budget planning and administration, human resource management of non-faculty employees and facilities management.
Dwyer brings more than 25 years of professional experience to VLS. He led the $1 billion financial operations of the Department of Community and Economic Development, which implements the Governor’s economic development agenda and programs that benefit low-income Pennsylvanians. As Special Advisor to the Budget Secretary of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Dwyer provided representation, analyzed major policy issues and led management and productivity initiatives for the Secretary. In addition to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, he has extensive experience as a financial manager with numerous government agencies. Dwyer holds a BA in Economics from Columbia University.
