Steven E. Koffs

Biography

Mr. Koffs is a partner in the Intellectual Property Department at Duane Morris, LLP, and has 20 years experience in intellectual property law, with emphasis in the areas of patent preparation and prosecution, counseling, and drafting opinions regarding infringement, validity and enforceability of patents. He also has experience in intellectual property litigation and dispute resolution involving patents, trademarks and unfair competition, copyrights and trade secrets. He represents one of the world's largest semiconductor fabrication foundries, and other major corporations in the fields of building materials and telecommunications. Mr. Koffs has drafted and prosecuted patents in the fields of semiconductor fabrication, building materials, communications, computer hardware, consumer electronics, machinery, software, and business methods.

Active in professional organizations, Mr. Koffs is past chair of the Intellectual Property Section of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, a past board member of the Benjamin Franklin American Inn of Court, and is a past hearing committee chair for the Disciplinary Board of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania. He has given numerous presentations before the Pennsylvania Bar Institute, Pennsylvania Bar Association, Benjamin Franklin American Inn of Court, and the Computer and Electronic Practice Committee of the Philadelphia Intellectual Property Law Association, and has chaired several roundtables for the Intellectual Property Committee of the Litigation Section of the American Bar Association. He is also active in charitable causes.
