Jennifer A. Henfey Named New Director of Career Strategy and Advancement
Jennifer A. Henfey, Villanova Law Class of 1999, has returned to her alma mater to serve as the Law School's new Director of Career Strategy and Advancement. Prior to her appointment, Henfey was a partner at Blank Rome LLP where she concentrated her practice in commercial finance, primarily representing banks and other financial institutions.
While at Blank Rome, Henfey acquired extensive experience in hiring and recruiting. She chaired the firm's Recruiting and Retention Committee and served as the hiring partner of the Philadelphia office. In addition, she was a member of the Philadelphia Recruiting and Retention Committee from 2001 to 2011 and served as co-chair of the firm's Summer Program from 2003 through 2005.
"I'm very pleased that we were able to recruit such an experienced and well-qualified attorney to head our Career Strategy Office," said Dean John Gotanda. "Jennifer knows the legal market well, and as an alumna of our Law School, she is very familiar with Villanova's strengths."
While a practicing attorney, Henfey maintained a relationship with her alma mater, serving as a member of the Villanova Law School Writing in Practice Partnership Committee—a group of distinguished judges and lawyers charged with advising the Law School’s Legal Writing Faculty as the professors work to enhance the preparation of students for the realities of practice.
"I’m excited to be back at Villanova, and have greatly enjoyed getting to know the students and my new colleagues," said Henfey. "My goal is to offer the best career strategy programs possible, and I look forward to working with all members of the Villanova Law community, in particular the Law School's loyal and successful alumni base, to further the development of our programs. As graduates, we can make a real impact on students by offering firsthand knowledge about the realities of practice and sharing personal experiences to help them transition into successful professionals.”
Henfey is a 1996 graduate of Cornell University. Following graduation from Villanova Law School, she joined Blank Rome as an associate in the Financial Services practice group and was elevated to partner in 2008. Henfey was recognized as a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer in Banking in 2007.
