VLS Mourns The Honorable Richard J. Hodgson '63
It is with great sadness that we share the loss of
The Honorable Richard J. Hodgson '63. Judge Hodgson passed away on Thursday, July 18, 2012 at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
Despite complications from a liver transplant, Judge Hodgson served as President of the 38th Judicial District Common Pleas Court from 2007 through late 2011, never carrying less than a full caseload.
Judge Hodgson attended LaSalle High School and Holy Cross College before earning his law degree from Villanova University School of Law in 1963.
As an alumnus, Judge Hodgson served as a member of the Villanova Law Alumni Association Board of Advisors from 2008-2011.
Beloved husband of Noel (nee Rush) Hodgson and father of Francis Ronca. Brother of C. Clark Hodgson, Jr. (Denise), Helen Overlan (Kerry), and Stephen Hodgson. Predeceased by his parents, C. Clark Hodgson and Helen D. Hodgson.
