Villanova Law Alumni Volunteer with Wills for Heroes
On April 28, 2012, VLS alumnae,
Colin O'Boyle '07,
William Roark '06 and
Lindsay Hanifan '11 volunteered their time as members of the Montgomery County Young Lawyers Section with the Wills for Heroes program at the Flourtown Fire Department in Flourtown, PA to help provide Wills, Living Wills, Health Care and Financial Powers of Attorney to first responders and their spouses/partners free of charge.
The day started with a 2 hour training session over breakfast which included a detailed discussion of basic estate planning, and a review of the software system volunteers used to prepare the free estate documents. Appointments were scheduled from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and there was a good turnout of both volunteers and first responders. The Flourtown firefighters and other first responders passed along their tremendous gratitude for bringing this much needed program to them!
