VLS Mourns Alumnus Deacon Thomas E. Eichman '58
It is with great sadness that we share with you the passing of Deacon Thomas E. Eichman '58, of Broomall, Springfield and Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania on November 27, 2012 at Broomall Presbyterian Village at the age of 84.
Eichman matriculated from St. Joseph's Prep, Villanova University and Villanova University School of Law in 1958. He was an army veteran of the Korean War. Following his graduation from law school, Eichman began his legal career with Schnader, Harrison, Segal, and Lewis in Philadelphia before becoming a partner with John Donohue. He later practiced as Thomas E. Eichman Associates, P.C. until his retirement in 2001.
A longtime member of St. Kevin Church, where he was the chaplain of the Legion of Mary, Eichman was ordained to the Deaconate in 1997 and served there as a Deacon until 2010. He was an avid reader and loved his God, his family and his cats. Villanova always had a special place in his heart
Eichman is survived by his wife of 31 years Maureen (nee McDonnell) Eichman, son Thomas E. (Lisa) Eichman Jr., daughter Frances L. (Philip) McCabe, brother Peter L., MD (Phyllis) Eichman, two step-daughters Sherry (Paul) Kearney and Karen (Stephen) Monahan, five grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his parents Edward A. Eichman, MD and Frances (Liebert) Eichman, sisters Mary, Eileen, A. Elizabeth, and Honora, and brother, Edward.
A Funeral Mass was held on December 1, 2012 at St. Kevin Church, Springfield, PA.
