Arcadia University Announces Valerie Harrison '87 as Vice President for Legal Affairs and General Counsel
On May 30, 2012, Arcadia University announced the appointment of former Associate University Counsel at Temple University, Valerie Harrison '87, as Vice President for Legal Affairs and General Counsel.
Arcadia University President Carl (Tobey) Oxholm III, commented “It’s such a pleasure to find someone about whom nothing but accolades were given, not only from her colleagues and references, but also from many others in the legal community whom I have known and respected for so long.”
Following graduation from Villanova Law, Harrison worked 11 years as in-house corporate counsel to 2 multinational corporations with Morgan Lewis, and 13 years as an Associate University Counsel for Temple University. While at Temple, Harrison served as liaison to 2 committees of the Temple University Board of Trustees. She also dedicates time to serve her community and is pursuing a Ph.D. in African American Studies at Temple, which she expects to complete next year.
As Vice President for Legal Affairs Harrison will be a member of the President’s Cabinet, and the Executive Council and Arcadia’s Human Resources and Risk Management functions will report directly to her.
