VLS Alum to Lead First U.S. Office of U.K.’s Largest Litigation-Only Firm
On April 17, 2012, London-based Stewarts Law, the U.K.’s largest litigation-only firm, announced the launch of Stewarts Law U.S. LLP and confirmed the appointment of David Straite ’96 as one of two U.S. Partners and Executive Committee Members of the U.S. LLP.
Straite has worked in the New York office of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP and the Delaware office of Grant & Eisenhofer P.A. He received his undergraduate degree from Tulane University and his law degree from Villanova University School of Law. Along with Ralph Sianni, Straite has represented some of the largest institutional investors in the U.S. and Europe.
Straite and Sianni will head offices in New York and Delaware and initially focus their practice on investor protection litigation, including securities litigation, corporate governance and alternative entity litigation, as well as antitrust and commercial litigation. Straite will lead the new Investor Protection Litigation department in New York and Sianni will manage the U.S. offices in Delaware.
The U.S. team is expected to be immediately involved in a number of heavyweight cases including: In re: Facebook Internet Tracking Litigation (N.D. Cal.); Peters v. JinkoSolar Holding Co., Ltd., et al. (S.D.N.Y.); Schad v. Harbinger Capital Partners LLC, et al. (S.D.N.Y.); and In re: Advance America Shareholders Litigation (Del. Chancery).

The offices of Stewarts Law U.S. LLP opened in New York and Wilmington, Delaware on May 1, 2012.
