Alumnus Reappointed to Supreme Court of PA's IOLTA
James C. Schwartzman, ‘72, has recently been reappointed to the Interest on Lawyers Trust Account (IOLTA) by the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, serving a three-year term beginning on September 1, 2011. Mr. Schwartzman is a shareholder at Stevens & Lee and chairs its White Collar Litigation and Corporate Investigations Group. He frequently argues cases before all Pennsylvania Courts and has extensive trial experience in civil matters.
This is Schwartzman’s second term, as he was first appointed in 2008. IOLTA is an appointed board of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania that provides civil legal aid to the poor and support improvements to the justice system.
In addition to serving on the IOLTA Board, Mr. Schwartzman is Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA). He also serves on the Executive and Finance Committees and the Board of Directors for Independence Blue Cross.
