Two Villanova Law Students Win Plain English Awards
Villanova Law students have won first and second prizes in the Plain English Competition sponsored by the Plain English Section of the Pennsylvania Bar Association. Edward Enoch, a second year student, and Zak Goldstein, a third year student, placed first and second, respectively. Enoch and Goldstein competed with other students in Pennsylvania law schools and law students around the country who hail from Pennsylvania. The students were given a fictional letter by a lawyer to a client and asked to rewrite it so that the client could easily understand it. The Bar Association sponsored the contest to encourage new lawyers to avoid legalese and to communicate well with their clients.
