Accommodations

The Law School works diligently at meeting the needs of students with disabilities, and it grants reasonable accommodations provided that the requested accommodations do not fundamentally alter the nature of the academic program or compromise an essential aspect of the academic program.

Student requesting reasonable accommodations must make their requests online or by filling out the the Request for Reasonable Accommodations Form. Completed forms may be submitted to Ms. Moody via email or delivered to her office in Rm. 44.

Students requesting exam accommodations should submit the form to LaRasz Moody, Director of Academic Success Programs, by September 15th for accommodations for the fall semester exam period and March 12th for the spring term. First year students should apply for accomodations at least two weeks before the Legal Research exam in October.

Accommodations for second and third year students who have previously received accommodations do not require new supporting documentation. However, all students must complete the request form each semester for both exam and other accommodations.

Third year students should note that receiving accommodations in law school is not a guarantee that they will receive accommodations on a state bar examination. They should check with the state(s) in which they intend to take a bar examination to determine whether accommodations are made for their disability. Students may refer to Pennsylvania Board of Examiners website for guidance on accommodations for Pennsylvania's bar exam.

Students should refer to the Student Handbook for details on the Accommodations Policy. As noted in the policy and on the form, requests will not be considered unless students submit the required supporting documentation from the treating professional, including diagnosis, recommendations and supporting measurements.
