Professor Teressa Ravenell, formerly a Visiting Assistant Professor at the College of William and Mary Law School, joins Villanova Law School where she will teach Civil Procedure and a seminar on Police Conduct.

Professor Ravenell received her B.A. from the University of Virginia and her J.D. from Columbia University School of Law.  While at Columbia, she was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar.  In addition, she was executive editor of the Columbia Journal of Law and Social Problems and published a casenote, “Left, Left, Left, Right Left: The Search for Rights and Remedies in Juvenile Boot Camps,” 35 Columbia Journal of Law & Social Problems 347 (2002).  Following law school, she  was an associate with Wilmer, Cutler & Pickering in Washington D.C., and later
clerked for the Honorable Raymond A. Jackson of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, before joining the College of William and Mary faculty.  At William and Mary, she taught Products Liability and a police conduct seminar.

Professor Ravenell’s most recent article, “Hammering in Screws: Why the Court should look beyond Summary Judgment when Resolving § 1983 Qualified Immunity Disputes,” will be published in volume 52 of the Villanova. Law Review.
