April 2, 2013 – Pennsylvania Bar Association Publishes Villanova Law Review Student’s Article
Michelle Rosenberg, a 2L at Villanova, was recently published in the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s “Resolution” newsletter, a newsletter of the PBA Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee. March 11, 2013 – Villanova Law Review E-reader Edition
The Villanova Law Review is pleased to announce the publication of the print journal in digital format for E-readers. Volume 58:1, published March 2013, is the first edition available in this format. February 22, 2013 — Publication of Two New Articles on Tolle Lege
The Villanova Law Review is pleased to announce the publication of two new articles on Tolle Lege the Law Review’s online companion. The first article is by Professor Richard A. Booth, Martin G. McGuinn Chair in Business Law at the Villanova University School of Law. Professor Booth’s article discusses the potential implications of Standard Fire Insurance Co. v. Knowles, which is presently before the Supreme Court. The second article is by Ms. Laura E. Ploeg, a Third Year Law Student at Villanova and a member of the Villanova Law Review. Ms. Ploeg’s article asserts that the Supreme Court misapplied pre-emption principles in its holding in Chamber of Commerce v. Whiting and how the holding in that case will impact immigration law.
December 10, 2012 — Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Lecture Announcement
The Villanova Law Review is pleased to announce that it will once again be participating in the annual Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Lecture, which will be held on Tuesday, January 22, 2013. We are honored that Professor Taunya Banks will be delivering this year’s lecture. Professor Banks’s talk, “The Unfinished Journey: Educational Equality and Martin Luther King, Jr. Revisited,” will be published in Volume 58 of the Law Review.

November 11, 2012 — Norman J. Shacoy Symposium Announcement
The annual Villanova Law Review Norman J. Shachoy Symposium will be held on January 18, 2013. This year’s symposium will be titled “Assessing the CISG and Other International Endeavors to Unify International Contract Law: Has the Time Come for a New Global Initiative to Harmonize and Unify International Trade?” The symposium will bring together many of the world’s leading experts on international contract law. Additionally, the Villanova Law Review is pleased to announce that the symposium will be cosponsored by the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL), the Pennsylvania Bar Association, the Philadelphia Bar Association, and the New York Bar Association, as well as the Global Philadelphia Association.

The Villanova Law Review would like to congratulate Colleen Ray and Laura Ploeg, whose articles we have selected for publication on Tolle Lege. Colleen’s piece is a Comment entitled Fueling the Death Spiral for Workers’ Pensions: The Bankruptcy Process and Multiemployer Pension Plans, Laura’s is a Note entitled Chamber of Commerce v. Whiting: A Law Student’s Freewheeling Inquiry. Laura’s Note has been selected by The National Law Review as one of the Fall 2012 winners of their Law Student Writing Contest.

July 16, 2012 — Villanova Law Review Student Wins First Place in Legal Writing Competition
Rising 3L and Villanova Law Review Associate Editor Kathleen Dapper recently won first place in the International Association of Defense Counsel’s Annual Student Legal Writing Contest. Kathleen’s article “Nothing is Certain Except Death and Taxes: But in the District Courts, Not Even Taxes are Certain for e-Discovery Costs” was selected for the honor by the IADC after reviewing numerous submissions. Everyone at the Law Review would like to congratulate Kathleen on her accomplishment!
