Falvey Library

Falvey Library is Villanova University’s general library for all disciplines outside of law. While faculty members have borrowing and other privileges at Falvey, it does have a separate administration with different policies and procedures than the Law Library. Accordingly, please keep the following guidelines in mind when using Falvey Library.

Online Access and Information

Falvey maintains a webpage with access to its online catalog, electronic indexes, databases and electronic journals. The address is: http://www.library.villanova.edu. Access to the proprietary databases is password-protected. To obtain your password for the University’s server, contact the University’s computer support office at 519-7777.

Faculty Proxy Borrowing Accounts

In order for a research assistant to check out books from the University's Falvey Library under a faculty member's name, the faculty member will have to contact Falvey to request a proxy account. To do so, the faculty member can email Luisa Cywinski of Falvey's Circulation Department. The message must be submitted from the faculty member's email account, and it should include the student's name, social security number, and the date on which the proxy account is to expire. Requests can also be submitted in writing on the faculty member's stationery.

Interlibrary Loans

Please submit all of you interlibrary loan requests to the Law Library, not to Falvey Library. Falvey Library will not process ILL requests for faculty or students from the Law School. Your request(s) will be delayed if you submit them to Falvey Library first. Please note that the Law Library has placed a copy of its Interlibrary Loan form on our web- page. You can now complete the form on-line, then print it to submit at the reference desk. ILL forms still have to be turned in at the reference desk.

Falvey Library Photocopy Cards

Photocopy cards are available in the Law Library for research assistants who need to photocopy materials at Falvey Library. Please see Lynne Maxwell or one of the Reference Librarians to borrow one.
