On Friday, November 16, 2012, five Villanova Law students attended the 7th Annual Ivy Sports Symposium at Columbia University in New York City. The Ivy Symposium is an annual conference that is considered one of the premier events in the sports industry. This year’s symposium was the largest ever with over ninety speakers from all facets of the sports industry. Villanova’s very own Professor Andrew Brandt served as moderator for the Athlete Marketing and Representation panel. Professor Brandt guided the discussion which included topics such the role of social media in athlete representation, maintaining athletes’ images, and different approaches to handling an athlete’s fall from grace (i.e. Tiger Woods, Lance Armstrong).
