The NFL and GE have partnered to create the “Head Health Initiative” a 4-year, $60 million program that includes a research program to find new ways to diagnose brain injuries as well as research geared towards protecting against head injuries.This announcement follows the NFL’s earlier commitment of $30 million to the National Institutes of Health for medical research of brain injuries.

Next month, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania will hear oral arguments in the pending NFL concussion litigation.
