Technology Services
Villanova University School of Law boasts an impressive array of classroom technology facilities and computer support services for its students. With a total of 168 PC workstations available for student use,
wireless access throughout the Law School, and power outlets at classroom seats, the law school easily meets, if not exceeds, students' information and technology needs.
Villanova's law library is among the finest in the nation with plentiful technological resources. The library's main reading room contains 88 Pentium IV computers in multipurpose workstations. Twenty-one additional PC workstations may be found throughout the library. All PCs are connected to nine high-speed network printers for student use. In addition to providing wireless access throughout, the library contains a total of 181 study carrels where students with laptop computers can access the network and Internet, including the LEXIS/NEXIS and WESTLAW databases, the library online catalog and other web-based law information services. A classroom computer lab with 24 PCs and 36 network ports is also available for student use when class is not in session.
Seats in the Law School's five large classrooms and four seminar rooms provide AC power outlets for students to plug in their laptop computers. All classrooms have been outfitted for use with the latest audio visual equipment, such as Smartboards, Sympodiums, screens and projectors.
Law students are able to take final exams on computer, search for published exams through our
online exam database, register for courses online
and access final grades
through the network. Many professors supplement their teaching and course materials using
Blackboard, our online course management system.
Five departments support the Law School's technology services. A description of each department and staff contact information can be found on the menu to the left, as well as useful
documentation, policies and
Computerized Exams information.
